Vertical Solar Shading

NLC recently completed the installation of the green vertical shading fins and also the rectangular timber blade panels. The green shading fins were supplied in two different depths to suit two different sections of the windows. The blades with shorter depth were used at the edge of the openings which meant the longer blades were fixed in a more central position on the windows. The timber blade panels were installed along the south elevation as those windows needed the highest reduction in solar gain. 10mm Thick fully welded aluminium brackets were used to support the vertical panels in front of the windows with a drop rod installed on the largest panel to prevent deflection of the centre of the timber blade.
