Nationwide Louvre Company Ltd ( NLC ) have completed a project at Dublin Cathedral. Working directly with the Cathedral and conservation architects Benjamin & Beauchamp, Nationwide Louvre Company Ltd ( NLC ) designed, manufactured and installed a louvre system to all four elevations of the Minot Bell Tower. Each elevation having the existing timber louvres restored, with additional double banked extruded aluminium louvre system fitted to the rear with external water chutes. Nationwide Louvre Company Ltd ( NLC ) have also installed to the rear of the louvres 32 No motorised shut off dampers with a 99.9% shut off, which can completely close off each elevation of the bell tower in extreme weather conditions or to enable bell practice without upsetting the local residants. Due to new EU regulations the Cathedral is no longer able to say that they were there first. Therfore a provisions for shutting down each elevation independantly of each other was installed whilst rectification / repair works were being carried out.
